Dead Horse Point in Southern Utah - 325
Aerial view of the Dead Horse Point mesa. It is over 2000 feet above the Colorado River that winds through the bottom of the Canyon. In America's early history cowboys would use the plateau to trap wild horses, corralling them in and then separating out the good stock from the bad (broom-tails). As the story goes a large group of these broom-tails were left unable to escape and died of thirst, ergo the name "Dead Horse Point"
